ZusszArt
Welcome to the world of ZusszArt.
Every artwork begins with an observation. A feeling. A memory. A thought that refuses to stay silent.
As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the way people connect, drift apart and find their way back to one another.
Long before I started painting, I translated emotions into simple figures and symbols.
It became my own language for feelings that were often too complex for words.
My work is inspired by the sea.
Living near the coast of Knokke-Heist, I am constantly drawn to its contrasts: calm and chaos, depth and surface, freedom and longing.
The ocean reminds me that emotions move much like waves sometimes quietly, sometimes overwhelmingly, but never standing still.
Creativity has always been a part of my life.
From my years at the Children's Art Academy to my love for theatre, opera, black-and-white photography and long walks, I have always been inspired by stories, atmosphere and human behaviour.
I find beauty in details that others often overlook and inspiration in the everyday moments that reveal something deeper.
Through simple lines, abstract figures, texture and symbolism, I explore themes of connection, attraction, rejection, identity and belonging.
My work is deeply personal, yet intentionally open.
I do not want to tell people what to see or feel.
Instead, I invite them to bring their own experiences into the artwork.
In September 2026, I will begin my studies in Painting at MAAK – Open Huis voor Kunsten, the local academy for part-time arts education in Knokke-Heist, where I will continue developing my artistic voice and technical skills.
Because every painting starts with my story.
But it becomes complete when it meets yours.
